Although Otepää is officially known as the “Winter Capital,” it actually attracts large numbers of active people year-round. Officially, nearly 7,000 people live in Otepää, but during major events, the number of people visiting Otepää increases many times over. The Tehvandi Sports Center is undeniably the heart of winter sports in Estonia. In addition to the Tehvandi Stadium, the center offers opportunities for active recreation on fitness trails (running, Nordic walking), bike trails, roller-skiing trails, a ball games field, biathlon shooting ranges, a mountain bike trail, and, of course, the legendary Tartu Marathon and Tehvandi ski trails.
